Clothing, books, eye glasses, phones and other useful items such as wheelchairs collected by Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ six shopping malls across the UAE
Dubai, UAE, August 2012 – Majid Al Futtaim Properties has received an overwhelming response to its ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign with residents and visitors across the UAE, donating a total number of 24,040 everyday items that will be used to support underprivileged families across the community. Wrapping up its sixth successful year, Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ passionate campaign was supported by all six of its shopping malls in the UAE: Ajman City Centre, Deira City Centre, City Centre Fujairah , Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre and Sharjah City Centre. Shoppers and retailers were encouraged to donate simple, everyday items such as clothing, eye glasses, mobile phones and books in collection boxes placed in the malls.
The response has exceeded expectations. In total, there were 24,040 items collected which included other beneficial items such as non-perishable foods, school supplies and even wheelchairs donated by Majid Al Futtaim Properties. These generous donations will be handed to the Red Crescent UAE to support various humanitarian causes in local and underprivileged communities. A key initiative introduced by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, the annual ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign has been a significant contributor to Red Crescent UAE and this year commemorates its sixth year running.
